Alpha 24 Hour Prayer

We are holding 24 hours of prayer for Alpha, splitting the time between us in 30 minute slots. Sign up now!

You can pray for your 30 minute slot anywhere and anyhow you see fit. Scroll down for some prayer points and a way to share what God put on your heart.

We will be meeting Monday the 22nd of September at 7pm in DEC for a time of prayer and worship specially dedicated to Alpha. We will discuss what God spoke to us during our prayer slot.

Prayer Points:

Below are some prayer points to get you started in your session. These are by no means exhaustive.

  • Colossians 4:2-4: “Devote yourselves in prayer, being watchful and thankful. 3 And pray for us too, that God may open a door for our message, so that we may proclaim the mystery of Christ, for which I’m in chains. 4 Pray that I may proclaim it clearly, as I should.” We need to pray that ‘God may open a door’ for guests to come and DEC members to bring their friends.

  • We want to create a welcoming atmosphere where guests feel that they are respected and listened to. We want guests to keep coming back. Pray for quick build up of friendship and trust on the Alpha course.

  • The practical factors involved in running a successful Alpha course are complex and varied. Pray for the food team, Alpha Small Group Leaders and Helpers as they prepare.

  • That guests who have been invited will find it easy to get to DEC and be brave enough to go through the door of the church for 7pm on Thursday

  • Food preparation - that the wonderful tasty food hits the spot!

  • Pray for people to find it easy to park their car.

  • Pray for technical matters and protection from malfunction, including production.
