Worship

‘In God we make our boast all day long, and we will praise your name forever’ -Psalm 44.8

In DEC we believe that the way we live our lives should be an act of worship to God. As part of our worship we meet weekly on a Sunday morning to express our worship of God and to encourage and bless each other.

We have a number of worship leaders who choose songs and scripture references which help us to focus on a certain aspect or attribute of the Lord Jesus Christ. On certain occasions those present are encouraged to openly share their experience of God so that He is glorified for who He is and what He is doing. We also believe that communication with God is two way. As we sing to Him and speak to Him in prayer we believe that God responds to us and by the power of the Holy Spirit speaks back to us.

Each church is made up of a group of unique individuals and therefore the worship of each church will have some unique qualities. We seek to structure our corporate worship to facilitate the whole church in responding to God in a meaningful and truthful way, which takes various forms of expression.

Music

Music plays a big part in our corporate worship. We use a wide variety of songs and musical styles from those written a couple of centuries ago to contemporary songs.  We have a team of musicians, singers, songwriters and sound engineers, but the team is not limited to the musically minded – we also have skilled members who help with the behind the scenes activities that are an essential part of bring it all together.
